Dear Simon and Ruth,
I said in my last letter that I needed to understand more clearly about healing - well that has really opened up and I'm experiencing so much of God's mighty power.
You remember the skin cancer? Well, I saw my doctor and he agreed to a minor operation at the surgery to remove it. However, he had to leave it a month because the surgery was being redecorated and changed. In the meantime, I began to believe the Lord for healing and for it to remove from me.
About two weeks ago it began to lift at the edges and one day it simply peeled off. It left a slight red mark - then that vanished and there is nothing left now. I cancelled the minor op and praised God for His touch.
At the beginning of September I was in contact with a lady in our west church who had come through breast cancer. She had had chemotherapy and radio therapy. Just when she thought she was over it - it was back. She had three tumours in the top vertebrae of the spine and in the brain stem - they were growing rapidly.
As a whole church we began to pray and I visited daily to encourage her faith. However, she deteriorated rapidly to the point that the pain was so intense that she couldn't be touched. She also couldn't lay down. Her neck was paralysied and basically I think she was dying.
She was taken into hospital on the Sunday evening two and a half weeks ago. Her little boy couldn't even kiss her or hug her goodbye. The doctors gave her two or three days. They administered heavy doses of morphine and tender loving care.
I found the Word of God began rising up in me, "The devil comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy but I have come that they might have life." I went to her every day at the hospital to speak His Word over her and claim life. The church was also speaking the Word over her in prayer in the same way - 6.30 am for an hour at the morning prayer meeting and 8 to 10.30 pm for the evening one. There was no negative talk or speculation allowed, just positive belief in the Word of God for her life.
It was brilliant - day by day we saw transformation. After three days, she was moving her neck. After four days, she was hugging her son and everyone else. Day by day we were just standing by faith and stepping out by faith. Until - on Friday last week - she came home almost off the morphine!
The x-rays show three tumours still there - but not growing! We are pressing in to see them removed completely. At home she is up and about. She's cooking and doing most things in the home. Her husband is a headmaster at a London school. He is one with us in faith - believing for her healing and encouraging her all the time in the Word of God. It's been an incredible time for all of us. Now we mustn't give up until we have complete deliverance!
