There are many possible causes for overeating but we can go to one Person who has all the solutions - Jesus!
Jesus is our Saviour! He is ready to save us from whatever we need saving from - including overeating.
He can save you by "zapping" you but He prefers to save you by getting you to heed the things He has spoken to you. In this way, you not only get delivered you also grow stronger and more mature in Him, becoming less in need of miraculous deliverances and more able to walk continuously in His blessings!
I know with overeating we're talking about hungering but this is so close to thirsting that I believe you need to take to heart what Jesus said about that. He said,
"If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink!" and He said, "Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst!"
The cure for thirsting, according to Jesus, is coming to Him and drinking the water He gives!
I have seen this work in my own life. When I have started to thirst after things and pursuits that were not to the glory of God I have stopped myself. I have come to Jesus in prayer, opened my Bible and begun drinking in the words of life He brought to me by His Spirit. This water quenched my thirst! His water satisfied my soul!
I commend you to Jesus and His Word. Begin building a living relationship with Him to where He becomes your all in all! You can be complete in Him. You can be satisfied in Him. You can be fulfilled in Him.
He will be your Saviour, your Shepherd, your Lord, your God.
