The chuckle of joy

by Pastor Simon

When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing.

Psalm 126:1-2 - NKJV

Are you carrying a care? If any weight of care is on your heart then it hasn't been transferred into God's hands. In making request in prayer your heart can be liberated from the burden of care. You'll laugh, you'll chuckle with joy, you'll break out into rejoicing when you see your care in the Lord's hands! What an exhilarating moment that will be!

The Christian who walks without a weight of cares is the Christian who has discovered how to "pray through". "Pray through" is an old expression. It describes how we can get earnest in prayer, determining not to halt until we've prayed everything through to God. Do you press on in prayer like that? God is calling you to "pray through" and not to "hold back"! God is pleased to have everything on your heart come through to Him in prayer. You'll know when it's happened - you'll by chuckling with joy. Stay at the throne of grace pouring out your heart until that moment comes. Psa.68:5.

"Praying through" may take a while the first time. The next time will be much easier - you'll start to get into the flow of pouring out your heart. For a great help with this take a psalm and pray that psalm earnestly. Pray also in tongues. Praying in tongues allows a continuous stream of intercession to come from your heart. Pray also with your understanding by picking up on the impressions you get from your intercession in tongues. Let your whole being get involved in presenting your petitions to God. Ro.8:26-27, Phil.4:6-7.

Come on, pray through!
