A pleasant land

by Pastor Simon

The Lord brought us out from there, that He might bring us in, to give us the land of which He swore to our fathers.

Deuteronomy 6:23 - NKJV

Coming out from somewhere tends to be a traumatic process. It involves letting go of things before you really have a hold on something new to replace it. That can be scary. As the Lord brings you out you have to commit yourself to His goodness and trust that He's also going to bring you in. Jer.29:11.

I'm talking about change here. I'm not necessarily talking about big changes. For example, I sense the Lord is indicating it's time to change my car. I like my present car but I sense perhaps the Lord's showing me it's time to let go of it. To let go of it I've got to trust Him that He will bring me to a better vehicle. There is a principle here. You have to release your hold on what seems to be supporting you now if you are to experience the Lord bringing you into new sources of support in a new place.

Make sure you see Jesus as your Shepherd. Make sure it's the Lord who's "bringing you out" and "bringing you in". You have to have your spiritual eyes on Him and learn to move as He moves and to follow as He goes. You have to lose you willfulness and your human tendency to wander off on your own path doing your own thing. In this world we are strangers and pilgrims but Jesus intends for you to go in life from one good place to an even better place under His shepherd-ship. One day you'll accompany Him to the best of all places. He'll bring you through the Gates of Pearl into the Heavenly City. Joh.10:27-28, Psa.23:1, Prov.3:5-6, Heb.11:13-16.

Revel in the journey with Jesus!
