The Daily Guide
Help the next one through
As far as we are concerned we do not want to stand in anyone's way, nor do we wish to bring discredit on the ministry God has given us. Indeed we want to prove ourselves genuine ministers of God whatever we're going through.
2 Corinthians 6:3-4 - J.B. Phillips' translation
"I'd rather see a sermon than to hear one any day!" This is how a well-known poem begins. People need to see a sermon illustrated by a person's life. The apostle Paul recognised this. He knew how he conducted himself was important! He wanted to show himself and his message genuine - no matter what he happened to be going through at the time!
No matter where you are and what you're going through someone's watching to see how well you make it through. If you make it through in spite of everything that comes against you then the one watching will be encouraged that he can make it through too. For the sake of the one walking behind you you need to make it through! Never mind what you're going through, that person behind you needs to see your endurance, your determination and your joy in tribulation. How you get on in crossing the ground is important to the person behind you!
Press on and strive to make it through to victory! Your success in making it through can help the next one make it through after you! Even on your way through, if you're giving it your all to make it then the one watching will conclude the prize on the other side must be worth a lot and worthy of the effort! People need to see an example. Your example will speak louder than any of your speeches.
Leading the way is most effective by example.
