Your testimony of endurance
We ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure.
2 Thessalonians 1:4 - NKJV
Look what Paul said of the Thessalonians! Wouldn't it be great to have something like that being said of you. Imagine an apostle going around telling a testimony about you illustrating how to continue in faith and endurance while faced with trouble. It's easy to claim a testimony of faith or endurance when there's no opposition but real faith and endurance have a testimony even in the face of heavy opposition.
We are in contention. We're contending for a victory. Every contender expects tough times. The contender knows there will be moments when his strength and endurance are stretched. Yet the serious contender - the one who has committed his all for the hope of victory - goes on regardless. He sticks in there because he's intending to stand in his dream! Paul exhorted, "Don't throw away your trust now; it carries with it a rich reward!" Heb.10:35.
How do you endure in the face of trouble? You do it in the same way Moses did. He kept beholding Him who is invisible! This means communing with God every day regardless of what confronts you. As you commune with Him say, "I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory." How do you hold to faith in tribulation? By having your faith founded on what God's Word says about you; not what present or past circumstances declare about you. You get this when you get a daily dose of "Thus saith the Lord!" Psa.63:2, Heb.11:27.
