Part 7: Habbakuk's Testimony
(This is part 7 of 19 parts in this class)
The prophet Habbakuk knew this. In the Bible we hear him reflecting on a time in his life when he was passing through a valley of tears created by adverse circumstances. He wrote,
Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls - Yet I will rejoice in the Lord.
Habbakuk 3:17-18 - NKJV
In the face of his tribulation, he was rejoicing in God. Then he declared,
The Lord God...will make my feet like deer's feet, And He will make me to walk on my high hills!
Habbakuk 3:19 - NKJV
Why was he anticipating this so excitedly? Because with feet like deer's feet he would escalate out of all the trouble that threatened his life and progress. How could he have feet like deer's feet? By having his Gospel shoes on! He wore on his feet all the words of peace God had given to him. You're going to have be like Habbakuk was! You're going to have to do like Habbakuk did.
