Part 9: Your words; your responsibility

(This is part 9 of 11 parts in this class)

Jesus made us responsible for our words - not just of our good or evil words but also our idle (non-productive) words!

When teaching about the power of spoken words Jesus said,

I tell you, on the day of judgement men will have to give account for every idle (inoperative, nonworking) word they speak. For by your words you will be justified and acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned and sentenced.

Matthew 12:36-37 - Amplified Bible

As believers we can accomplish so much with the words of our mouths. For this reason, we are held responsible for our words - all of them!

There is no alternative; we are going to have to get this matter of what we speak dealt with.

Let me give you a scriptural plan from for dealing with your tongue and making it an instrument for good:-

First, a quality decision is needed on your part. You are going to have to make a quality decision to have your tongue become an instrument for good to the glory of God.

Second, you will have to determine only to say what agrees with Truth - God's Word.

Third, you will have to submit your tongue to the Holy Spirit.
